Orphan Children Rescue International Child Adoption in Uganda
Orphan Children Rescue is a Christian adoption outreach providing foreign and international child adoption through the Orphan/Children Fund Academy African orphanage, in Uganda. The infants and children awaiting adoption in Uganda, Africa through the Orphan/Children Fund Academy orphanage are looking for loving parents like you!
Orphan Children Rescue was born out of a great need witnessed while visiting Uganda. We were in the office of the newly elected mayor of Kampala (the capital) speaking to him about his country. As we were talking the mayor posed this question to us, “What are YOU going to do to help change our country and the problems with disease, poverty and orphans?” We were taken aback at his question to us. We left his office and started thinking about what he had asked us.
The one thing that kept coming back to us over and over was that they saw the orphans in the country as a liability. With poverty so prevalent and birth rates at 7.1 births per woman there is no wonder that when a death of a mother or father occurs from child birth, disease, AIDS or war, that roughly 3.1 million orphans are the result.
We have several friends in Uganda who must care for 15 orphans or more in their family alone. An issue arises when this happens. The family members or neighbors try to care for them. This causes hardships and resentment in the family/neighbors doing the care, because it depletes the already strained economic resources. There are families that are not able to adequately feed or send their own kids to school and then these orphans are added to them. Just think what would happen to your family if you had to care for 15-20 extra children.
We at Orphan Children Rescue are compelled that we have a moral obligation and a God-given mission to rescue as many abandoned babies and orphaned children through adoption and placement in our partner orphanages as possible. The resources to raise one baby are the equivalent to that needed for 3 children, making the need to adopt the babies as a priority. For every baby that is adopted, we can rescue 3 children and care for them in our partner orphanages.
In the past, it has been nearly impossible to adopt children in Uganda and bring them out of the country. Through many long months of working with the government in Uganda we have been able to facilitate an arrangement with both Uganda and the USA to adopt these abandoned babies and children to loving people who want to help.
We look at it like this: Picture yourself driving down the highway and suddenly you see a small puppy run into the road. What do you do? Most people would stop their car, stop traffic and risk their life to rescue that puppy. Now picture this: Literally in Uganda, there are babies and small children sitting in the highway of life because they were abandoned through no fault of their own and are crying out for someone to rescue them.
